My name is Annie Moss, and I love the project of being human.
One of my proudest accomplishments was running a restaurant for seven years with several close collaborators. At Seastar Bakery and Handsome Pizza, we centered our values and pushed ourselves to be accountable to those values. We did things together that wouldn’t have been possible alone.
One of my most perspective-shifting experiences was being part of Resource Generation’s Portland chapter in my early thirties. My participation with RG taught me that supportive community with shared values is what sustains us when we swim against the current of oppressive systems.
I’ve led, managed, collaborated, and been an entrepreneur and activist throughout my adult life. My favorite hobbies include crafting, cuddling, moving my body, and rearranging the furniture. I like to think of coaching as rearranging the furniture of our lives.
More about my work
Coaching
I approach coaching through the frameworks of liberatory coaching and neuroscience. I completed Coaching for Healing, Justice, and Liberation’s Introduction to Liberatory Coaching program; CoActive’s Fundamentals of Coaching training; and the Positive Intelligence PQ Coach Essentials program.
Facilitation
As a professional facilitator, I have over a decade of experience guiding groups collaborating to effect social change. I received training through Resolutions Northwest’s Artful Facilitation Grounded in Racial Equity program. In 2024 I completed CoCreative’s Introduction to Collaborative Innovation training. My experience also extends to the personal — as a certified death doula, I am trained to facilitate individuals on their end-of-life journey.
Gathering
Through my experience starting two successful baking businesses — as the original general manager at Tabor Bread and then at Handsome Pizza and Seastar Bakery — I made it my mission to create inclusive environments that encouraged community-building and connection. Currently, my collaborator Monica Cuneo and I are transforming 20 acres of land in White Salmon, WA into a meaningful and magical retreat space. Stay tuned!
Training
I love teaching and training! Over the last two decades, I taught groups of all ages on a range of topics from urban farming and whole-grain baking, to equity and inclusion. I completed the Neurology of Equity and Inclusion Train the Trainer program, and continue to nerd out regularly on ways to help people learn tools and skills for fostering more just workplaces and communities.
